Hello! The One Club for Creativity helped me create this video to pilot the ONE CREATOR LAB in 2022. I’d pitched and wanted to collaborate on a way to help people in the advertising and creative industries share their skills and teach one another, independent of which agency they’re in, or what point they’re in within their career. It’s now live and this video is part of the One Creator Lab curriculum, but with permission, I’m sharing it here for all of you, too. PATIENCE
This class is on "Patience" and how it became a themed nudge from the Universe, helping me meet one exhilarating opportunity after another. With preparation, practice, and joyful presence, I'm happy to share my greatest life lesson: we can all harness all of our dreams, all in due time.
My career journey is intentionally atypical. As a young art director at top, international advertising agencies working on Fortune 100 clients on a global scale. After being hired during a global hiring freeze at Saatchi & Saatchi in Singapore, I rose from intern to art director to ACD within the year. At McCann, Paris, I aligned global client teams with brand videos resulting in a standing ovation. Art directing a $1M Cheerios campaign airing 7 different TVCs across 5 continents was a thrill, but the impact my Cereales Lion TVC doubled our markets and required supply chain edits to keep boxes on store shelves. Since agency life, I’ve been CCO of an ad tech startup, Director of Mission, Brand, and Culture at a Health Tech startup, and Founder of Magentic, a Creative Transformation Agency.
I offer this video as a way to help creatives of any age or expertise to revel in their own talents and gifts, take a deep breath, envision their best life, and then go and create it. We're all the creative directors of our own lives. You're in charge. Define your dreams, educate yourself to achieve them, seek and meet people who can help you, ask them deep and thoughtful questions (and actually listen to their answers), practice, get better, prove it to yourself, ensure you're super clear on your boundaries of what you want and WHY, and then allow patience to help you collaborate with the cosmos. You'll get there!
